Herbs remedies have been recognized to be beneficial to animals and are actually being encouraging by some Veterinarians these days. It has become a well known fact that herbs can assist the animal immensely and can help many health problems in horses, dogs and cats. As horses are herbivores it is natural for them to eat herbs. In their natural environment horses graze and they would usually eat different herbs while they grow.

Herbs are best fed over feed with a little water added or by made into a tisane (herbal tea). Tisanes are made by adding herbs to boiling water. Steeping covered allows the the oils to be retained in the mixture. Allow to steep for at least 20 minutes to 1 hour and let cool. This can then be poured over feed. Tisanes allow the full properties of the herb to come out.
